In addition to cheering on the WolfPack, one of the best reasons to attend basketball games at MATC is to catch a glimpse of Wolfie, the popular WolfPack mascot.
Wolfie started to make appearances at athletic events in 2003, four years after MATC changed its school nickname from Trojans to WolfPack. In 2006, Wolfie entertained crowds at home games and beyond – drawing high praise from those in attendance at the 2006 Women’s National Basketball Championship in Utica, NY.
A high-energy dancing machine, Wolfie, was even recognized by Wisconsin State Journal columnist Melanie Conklin in her Sunday, “Page Two” section (Dancing with Wolves).
You can also find Wolfie in the community. Most recently, the WolfPack mascot was present the Madison Time Capsule Presentation at the Overture Center, the Walk to Cure Diabetes at Warner Park and at Family Funfest 2006 held at Capital Brewery, helping to raise funds for the Family Support & Resource Center (FSRC).
If you want Wolfie to appear at your event please contact Jason Verhelst, Sports Information Director.
