Madison College Women Win Fifth Straight
Posted 11-17-09 - The Madison College women's basketball team won their fifth straight game to start the season with a 62-56 win over the Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks in Dixon, IL.

The WolfPack led by four points at halftime and maintained the advantage in the second half as first year guard, Shelby Beth, from Reedsburg H.S., led the WolfPack with 18 points. Gabi Hungerford pitched in with 13 points, three assists and four steals as the WolfPack improved to 5-0.


WolfPack Women Game Correction
Posted 11-17-09 - The WolfPack women's basketball game on Saturday Nov. 21 against Western Technical College in La Crosse, WI was incorrectly listed as being scheduled at 5:00 PM. The game is actually scheduled to be played at 1:00 PM.


WolfPack Women Knock Off #1 in Rematch
Posted 11-16-09 - The #2 nationally ranked Madison College women's team deafeated the #1 nationally ranked Rochester CTC Yellowjackets 69-54 in the second game of the Madison College Border Battle Classic on Nov. 14 and improved to 4-0 on the season in the process.

The WolfPack handed the Yellowjackets their first loss in over a year with the victory. The WolfPack also avenged an 87-63 loss in the 2008-09 national championship game against a Rochester CTC team that went 34-0 last season.

First-year guard from Potosi High School, Thresia Elskamp, led the WolfPack in scoring with 15 points on six-for-11 shooting. She also led the team with five steals. Second-year guard Kendra Mussehl added 11 points, while second-year post player Alyssa Bowe came up just short of a double-double by scoring nine points and grabbing eight rebounds. Leading scorer Gabi Hungerford saw double teams the entire game and was limited to eight points, but still found ways to be productive as she grabbed six rebounds and dished out a game-high seven assists.

The WolfPack bench continued to be productive this season by coming up big in the game as they outscored the Yellowjacket bench 23-9.


Madison College Cruises to 77-44 Win
Posted 11-13-09 - In the first game of the Madison College Border Battle Classic, the host WolfPack crusided to a 77-44 win over the Central Lakes College Raiders. The #2 nationally ranked WolfPack used a 38-7 advantage in points off turnovers to break the game open.

The WolfPack were led by Detroit Mercy College tranfer, Gabi Hungerford's 23 points on 9-for-10 shooting from the field. Former Reedsburg standout, Shelby Beth also pitched in with 13 points.

Tomorrow at 2:00 PM the #2 ranked Madison College will play #1 ranked Rochester Community & Technical College in a rematch from last year's national championship game.


WolfPack Women Roll Over Riverland CC
Posted 11-9-09 - The WolfPack blew out Riverland CC 73-39 in Worthington, MN. The women's basketball team swept away the competition at the Worthington Regional Hospital Classic by winning both of their games on Nov. 6 and 7.

The WolfPack jumped out to a 19-point halftime lead and never looked back. Madison College limited the Lady Devils to just 15 second half points in the victory. Gabi Hungerford had a busy day against Riverland CC as she recorded five rebounds, eight assists, two steals, and three blocks to compliment her game-high 18 points. Madison College spread the ball around as 13 players scored for the WolfPack in the victory.


Madison College Starts Season With a Win
Posted 11-9-09 - The women's basketball team defeated Minnesota West CTC 72-64 in their first game of the season at the Worthington Regional Hospital Classic in Worthington, MN.

The WolfPack built off their 34-31 halftime lead to outlast the Bluejays in the second half and hold on for the eight point win. University of Detroit-Mercy transfer, Gabi Hungerford, had a huge game for Madison College. In addition to scoring a game-high 21 points, she also grabbed six rebounds, gave out six assists, and had two steals. Second-year player Alyssa Bowe recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The women's basketball was the #2 ranked team in the national preseason poll coming into the season opener against Minnesota West CTC.

MATC's Dana Wagner Signs with NCAA Division I North Carolina-Asheville
Posted 5-19-09 - Madison Area Technical College second year guard, Dana Wagner, signed a national letter of intent to play for the University of North Carolina-Asheville Bulldogs next season.

Wagner, a former Sun Prairie H.S. student-athlete, averaged 17.6 ppg this past season while earning all-conference, all-state, all-region and first team All-American honors. 

Second year guard, Dana Wagner, was named a NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball First Team All-American this year, becoming the seventh women's basketball player in school history to receive All-American honors and only the third first-team women's basketball All-American selection.

Wagner, a former Sun Prairie H.S. athlete, helped lead Madison Area Technical College to a conference title, region title and second place national finish.  She was MATC's statistical leader in four different categories, including points per game (17.6 ppg), 3-point field goal percentage (36.0), free throws made (116), and free throw percentage (85.3). In addition to being named an All-American, Wagner earned all-conference, all-state, and all-region honors for her play during the 2008-09 season.

Wagner finished her career at MATC second on the career scoring list, and was just the second player to record over 1,000 points for her career (1,044).  In addition, Wagner broke the record for single-season free throw percentage (85.3), career free throw percentage (83.2), and finished seventh in career steals (157).

#5 MATC Falls to #1 Rochester CTC in Final
Posted 3-14-09 - On Saturday night in Rochester, MN, the #5 nationally ranked MATC Women's Basketball team finished national runners-up as they lost 87-63 to the #1 nationally ranked Rochester Community & Technical Colllege Yellowjackets in the NJCAA Division III National Championship Game.

The capacity crowd saw MATC trail by eight points going into halftime as they struggled shooting from the field. MATC's shooting woes continued in the second half as Rochester pulled away, outscoring the WolfPack 49-33. In the end, MATC fell 87-63 to finish second in the nation.

Rebecca Glassbrenner and Abbie Windus led the way for the WolfPack as each scored 14 points and combined for 24 rebounds. Dana Wagner also reached double-figures with eleven points. Wagner along with Kacey Kuecker received all-tournament honors for their play. MATC's second place finish is the best since the 2002-03 season.


WolfPack Advance To National Title Game
Posted 3-13-09 - MATC overcame a nine point first-half deficit to upset the reigning national champs from Monroe College, 58-53, in the second round of the national tournament.

Dana Wagner led all scorers with 20 points, while teammate Kaycey Kuecker pitched in with 15, and Abbie Windus scored 12 points to go along with a game-high 15 rebounds. The WolfPack put on the defensive clamps in the second half, outscoring the high-powered Mustangs 32-20 in the period.

Kuecker fueled the team's comeback with back-to-back three's midway through the second half, while the WolfPack held Monroe to just 9-of-35 shooting from the field in the period.

With the win, MATC advances to the title game of the

NJCAA D. III Women's Basketball Tournament for just the second time in school history, at  8:00 PM on Saturday, March 14.


MATC Wins National Tournament Opener
Posted 3-12-09 - MATC outscored their opponent 39-21 in the second half in defeating Camden County Community College in the first round of the national tournament by a score of 68-41.

Kaycey Kuecker and Rebecca Glasbrenner combined for 22 of the team's 29 first-half points, as the WolfPack held a 9 point advantage at halftime. The team's defense took over in the second half, as MATC rolled to the 27 point victory.

Kuecker led all scorers with 17 points, while Glasbrenner finished with 16 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Teammate Dana Wagner finished with 13 points, and Abbie Windus snared a game-high 15 rebounds. All four women are second year players for the WolfPack, playing in their second consecutive national tournament.

MATC advances to play Monroe College (30-1), from the Bronx, NY, in the second round of NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament at  6:00 PM on Friday, March 13.

Dana Wagner Reaches 1000 Points for Career
Posted 3-10-09 - Second year guard and MATC's leading scorer, Dana Wagner, from Sun Prairie H.S. currently has 1000 points for her career. She is only the second women's basketball player in MATC history to record more than 1000 points for her career.  Alicia Haag, from Waunakee H.S., owns the MATC record for career scoring with 1075 points.


MATC will play Camden CC on Thursday
Posted 3-9-09 - The #5 nationally ranked MATC Women's Basketball team received a #3 seed in the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball National Tournament in Rochester, MN. The WolfPack Women will play #6 seed Camden County College at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 12.


MATC Women Advance to National Tournament
Posted 3-6-09 - The #5 nationally ranked MATC Women's Basketball team earned a trip back to the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball National Tournament for the second consecutive year with a 78-75 win over Hibbing Community College in the NJCAA Region XIII-B Championship game.

The WolfPack jumped out to a 46-32 halftime lead but struggled closing out the game as the host Cardinals came storming back. Hibbing outscored MATC 43-32 in the second half but in the end, MATC held on for a 78-75 win. The win advances the team to its second consecutive national tournament appearance.

Abbie Windus led the way for the WolfPack as she poured in 20 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Rebecca Glasbrenner posted a double-double with 19 points and 14 rebounds while teammates Dana Wagner and Alyssa Bowe each eclipsed double-figures as well. The NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball National Tournament is March 12-14 in Rochester, MN.


MATC Plays Hibbing CC For Right to Advance
Posted 3-2-09 - The #5 nationally ranked MATC Women's Basketball team will play Hibbing Community College at the NJCAA Region XIII-B Championship Game in Hibbing, MN, on Friday, March 6th at 7:00 PM. The winner advances to to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament in Rochester, MN, on March 12-14.


MATC Storms to Victory, Advances
Posted 2-2-09 - The MATC Women's Basketball Team got a taste of sweet revenge on Thursday night, as they trounced the Stormers from Milwaukee Area Technical College 70-40 at the Redsten Gymnasium.

Dana Wagner scored early and often for the WolfPack, as she led all scorers with 22 points. First year forward Alyssa Bowe poured in 16, while teammate Rebecca Glasbrenner scored 10 to go with 10 rebounds as well.

As a team, the WolfPack forced 22 Stormer turnovers, garnered 11 steals, and dished out 12 assists. As a result, MATC will advance to the Region XIII-B Chamnpionship game, held in Minnesota, on March 6.


Purgolder Ball Handling Squad Performing
Posted 2-24-09 - The Purgolder MAISL Ball Handling Squad will be performing at halftime of the Women's game.

There are 19 girls from 15 different schools, ranging from first to sixth graders. All of the MAISL girls are fifth and sixth graders. The MAISL schools represented include Abundant Life Christian School, Blessed Sacrament, Edgewood Campus School, Immaculate Heart of Mary, High Point Christian School, St. James, St. John’s, St. Maria Goretti, and Our Lady Queen of Peace.

The Purgolders include one first grader, one fourth grader and the rest sixth graders. Schools represented include Hawthorne, O’Keefe, Marquette, Lakeview and Schenk.

These girls have performed at Edgewood HS, Edgewood College, East High and the Kohl Center. 


WolfPack Women Upset In State Semifinals
Posted 2-21-09 - Plagued by 19 turnovers, the MATC Women's Basketball team fell to Milwaukee Area Technical College, 75-65, in the opening round of the WJCAA State Tournament. MATC overcame an early nine point deficit to tie the game at the intermission, but couldn't keep up with the Stormers in the second half as their streak of ten straight victories came to a halt.

Dana Wagner led the WolfPack in scoring with 17 points, while teammates Abbie Windus, Rebecca Glasbrenner, and Alyssa Bowe pitched in with 13, 12, and 10 points, respectively.


WolfPack Trounce Western to Earn a Berth
Posted 2-18-09 - The MATC Women's Basketball team advanced to the 2009 WJCAA State Basketball Tournament with a convincing 91-56 win over the visiting UW-Rock County Roadrunners on Wednesday night.

The team scored 40 points off of 35 Roadrunner turnovers and raced out to a 30 point halftime advantage. Kaycey Kuecker led all scorers with 23 points and Dana Wagner pitched in with 19, while five different WolfPack players scored in double-figures.

MATC will play Milwaukee Area Technical College at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 21, in the H. Dougles Redsten Gymnasium, as MATC hosts the 2009 WJCAA State Tournament.


MATC Women Receive Another Win
Posted 2-10-09 - The #4 ranked MATC WolfPack Women's Basketball team received another win due to a January 2, 2009 forfeit versus Scottsdale Community College. The Scottsdale Community College forfeit was due to a NJCAA eligibility infraction. The WolfPack originally lost the game 48-50.


MATC Women Win Seventh Straight Title
Posted 2-4-09 - The #4 ranked MATC WolfPack Women's Basketball team claimed their seventh consecutive Wisconsin Technical College Conference title with a 65-50 win over the visiting Fox Valley Technical College Foxes in the final regular season game of the year. The win pushed their conference mark to 6-0 and also added to their current winning streak of nine consecutive games.

Dana Wagner led the way for the WolfPack with 16 points along with teammate Abbie Windus who recorded her fifth double-double of the season scoring 15 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. Second year point guard, Whittney Schultz also added ten points as MATC sprinted out to a 38-24 halftime advantage and never looked back. MATC's next game will be in the WJCAA State Playoffs and is yet to be determined.


WolfPack Record Eighth Straight Win
Posted 2-1-09 - MATC rolled past the College of DuPage in a non-conference road contest by a score of 69-52. Second year guard Dana Wagner led all scorers with 26 points, while Abbie Windus pitched in with 16 points and 10 rebounds, posting her fifth double-double of the season.

The win is the eighth in a row for MATC, who have not lost a game since returning from their spring trip to Arizona. The WolfPack have been defeating their opponents by an average of 30 points during the current win streak, as their overall record improved to 19-6.


MATC Women Claim Fifth Conference Win
Posted 1-29-09 - The #4 ranked MATC WolfPack Women won their seventh straight game and fifth consecutive conference victory over conference opponent, Western Technical College, 78-46, in La Crosse, WI.

Second year forward, Rebecca Glasbrenner, led all scorers with 24 points and 10 rebounds, posting her third double-double of the season. Second year teammates Kaycey Kuecker and Dana Wagner pitched in with 21 and 11 points, respectively. Along with 11 points, Dana Wagner posted her first double-double of her college career pulling down 12 rebounds.


WolfPack Cruise Past UW-Marathon
Posted 1-28-09 - MATC jumped out to a 18 point halftime lead and never looked back in defeating the visiting Huskies by a final score of 64-37. Second year guard Kaycey Kuecker led all scorers with 16 points, and teammate Abbie Windus chimed in with 10 of her own in the rout.

The win is the sixth in a row for the WolfPack, who retained their #4 ranking in the NJCAA polls this week.


WolfPack Downs Milwaukee, 83-59
Posted 2-1-09 - The WolfPack stormed out to a 31-14 halftime lead against the host Stormers, and never looked back in earning the conference victory. Second year guard Dana Wagner led all scorers with 21 points, while teammates Rebecca Glasbrenner and Kaycey Kuecker pitched in with 17 and 15 points, respectively.

MATC turned the ball over just 13 times and tallied 18 total assists, while forcing 20 turnovers against Milwaukee.


Team Effort Fuels 106-67 Victory
Posted 2-1-09 - Five players scored in double figures as MATC routed Fox Valley Tech in Menasha. Kaycey Kuecker and Dana Wagner led the charge as they scored 21 and 20 points, respectively.

As a team MATC shot over 56% from the field and moved to 3-0 in conference play.


MATC Women Rout UW-Marshfield
Posted 1-21-09 - Dana Wagner led four players in double digit scoring with 22 points, and Abbie Windus recorded her third double-double of the season as the #4 ranked WolfPack routed the visiting Marauders by a final score of 91-44.

Windus pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to go along with 11 points, while Alyssa Bowe and Kaycey Kuecker pitched in with 12 and 10 points, respectively. With the win MATC moves to 5-0 versus in-state opponents this season.


MATC Women's Game Rescheduled Friday
Posted 1-20-09 - The cancelled MATC Women's Basketball versus Fox Valley Technical College game on Thursday, January 15 has been rescheduled for Friday, January 23 at 6:00 PM in Menasha, WI.


MATC Remains Undefeated in Conference
Posted 1-7-09 - The #5 ranked MATC Women's Basketball team remained undefeated in Wisconsin Technical College Conference play with a 94-57 rout of the visiting Western Technical College Cavaliers. The WolfPack opened the game with a 15-0 lead, scoring 50 points in the first half.

Rebecca Glasbrenner had her second double-double of the year pouring in 13 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Teammates Kaycey Kuecker, Dana Wagner and Alyssa Bowe all added 12 points as MATC improved to 2-0 in conference play.


#5 WolfPack Get First Conference Win
Posted 1-7-09 - The #5 ranked MATC WolfPack Women's Basketball team won their first conference game of the season over the visiting Milwaukee Area Technical College Stormers. MATC-Madison jumped out to a 38-24 halftime advantage and held on despite poor shooting in the second half to get their first conference win of the season.

Second year forward, Abbie Windus, posted a double-double scoring 18 points and pulling down 12 rebounds while teammates Rebecca Glasbrenner and Dana Wagner had 13 and 12 points, respectively.


WolfPack Bounced By Mesa CC
Posted 1-9-09 - The WolfPack couldn't keep up with the second ranked team in Division II, as they fell by a final score of 94-60 in the final round of the Scottsdale Community College Tournament.

Guard Dana Wagner led all scorers with 17 points, and fellow former Sun Prairie athlete Kaycey Kuecker pitched in with 11 points of her own, while Abbie Windus pulled down a game high 14 rebounds. With the loss the WolfPack fall to 11-6 on the season.


MATC Falls To Scottsdale CC
Posted 1-9-09 - In the team's second round game at the Scottsdale Community College Tournament, the WolfPack fell to the host Fighting Artichokes 50-48.

Despite trailing by eight points at halftime, MATC rallied in the second half, only to see a last second shot fall short in taking the two point loss. Second year guard Kaycey Kuecker led all scorers with 13 points, and the WolfPack held NJCAA Division II All-American Shayla Washington to just 9 points, and didn't allow a single player to score double-digits in the loss.


WolfPack Defeats Grand Prairie College
Posted 1-9-09 - In the opening round of the Scottsdale Community College Tournament, MATC upended the Wolves from Grand Prairie College in Alberta, Canada, by a score of 65-63.

Second year forward Rebecca Glasbrenner and first year forward Alyssa Bowe each poured in 17 points, and combined for 14 rebounds in the victory. The 17 points was a career high for Bowe, a former Barneveld H.S. athlete. Abbie Windus pitched in with 12 points and 9 rebounds, as the fifth ranked WolfPack improved to 11-4 on the season.


#5 Ranked WolfPack Beat #7 Ranked Joliet
Posted 12-22-08 - In a battle of two top ten nationally ranked teams the #5 MATC WolfPack Women's Basketball team posted a 86-74 road victory over the #7 ranked Joliet Junior College Wolves in Joliet, IL on Saturday, December 20.

MATC jumped out to a 42-23 halftime advantage and held on to their tenth win of the season. Four second year players led the WolfPack in double-figures. Former Sun Prairie H.S. standouts, Dana Wagner and Kaycey Kuecker combined for 49 points (25 points and 24 points, respectively) while teammates Abbie Windus and Rebecca Glasbrenner added 16 points and 15 points, respectively. Windus pulled down 10 rebounds as well to record her first double-double of the season. MATC's next game is January 1 in Scottsdale, AZ.


Turnovers Costly in Loss to UW-Whitewater
Posted 12-16-08 - On Tuesday night, MATC jumped out to a 38-35 halftime advantage over the visiting UW-Whitewater Warhawks. But despite outshooting the Warhawks, 34 team turnovers including 18 in the second half cost the WolfPack down the stretch. MATC was outscored 41-26 in the second half and fell to UW-Whitewater JV for the second time this season, 64-76.

Second year guard, Kaycey Kuecker, led all scorers with 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds while teammates Dana Wagner and Alyssa Bowe pitched in with 15 and 14 points respectively. MATC's overall record is now 9-4.


MATC Downs Division II Kishwaukee
Posted 12-15-08 - The team travelled to Malta, IL, for a showdown with previously unbeaten NJCAA Divison II opponent Kishwakee College, and came back with a 57-50 victory.

After trailing the host Kougars by two points at halftime, MATC pulled away in the second half, as second year forward Abbie Windus scored 10 of her game high 21 points in the period. Guard Dana Wagner pitched in with 15 points as well, and the WolfPack improved their overall record to 9-3.

Prior to Saturday's contest, the undefeated Kishwaukee team had been beating their opponents by nearly thirty points per game. MATC claimed their sixth consecutive victory, and currently rank fifth in the nation in Division III.


WolfPack Roll UW-Rock County 79-36
Posted 12-12-08 - The fifth ranked MATC Women's Basketball team flexed their muscle against the host Rattlers as they won their fifth consecutive game. With four players scoring in double figures, the WolfPack led by 17 points at halftime and never looked back cruising to the victory.

Second year guard Kaycey Kuecker paced the squad with 21 points, while Alyssa Bowe, Dana Wagner, and Abbie Windus pitched in with 14, 12, and 12 points, respectively.


MATC Game Rescheduled for Wednesday
Posted 12-9-08 - Tonight's MATC Women's Basketball game versus UW-Rock County in Janesville, WI has been rescheduled for Wednesday, December 10 at 5:00 PM in Janesville, WI.


MATC Rolls by Gogebic CC 73-59
Posted 12-8-08 - The MATC Women's Basketball team won their third straight game as they defeated Gogebic Community College by a final score of 73-59.

Kaycey Kuecker scored 13 first half points as the WolfPack led by six at halftime. In the second period second year guard Dana Wagner caught fire, scoring 16 of her game-high 23 points as the WolfPack cruised to the 14 point win.

Wagner led all scorers with 23 points, while Kuecker pitched in with 15, and second year forward Rebecca Glasbrenner scored 11.


#5 Ranked MATC Cruises to In-State Win
Posted 12-4-08 - The #5 nationally ranked MATC WolfPack Women's Basketball team was led by second year forward, Rebecca Glasbrenner's, 23 point, eight rebound and five steals effort. Teammate Dana Wagner pitched in with 18 points as MATC cruised to a 64-51 win over the host UW-Richland Roadrunners on Wednesday night in Richland, WI.

MATC improved to 6-3 with their first win over a state junior college opponent this season.


MATC Women Top Anoka Ramsey 87-77
Posted 12-3-08 - The WolfPack shot over 72% from the charity stripe against the host Golden Rams, and made more free throws then their opponent attempted as they held on to the 87-77 victory.

Second year gaurd Dana Wagner paced her team with 32 points, including going 12-for-15 from the free throw line. Teammate Kaycey Kuecker pitched in with 16 points of her own, as the WolfPack improved to 5-3 on the year.

As a result, the team jumped up two spots in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, and now are ranked fifth in the nation.


MATC Women Lose to UW-Whitewater JV
Posted 11-25-08 - The #7 nationally ranked MATC Women's Basketball team lost 64-80 to UW-Whitewater JV on Tuesday night. MATC trailed by six at half but could never get back in the game as they shot just 31% from the field.

Second year standout, Dana Wagner led all scorers with 24 points and was 8-for-8 from the free throw line while teammate Abbie Windus added 13 points and eight rebounds in the loss.


MATC Women Fall to Sauk Valley CC
Posted 11-18-08 - The #6 ranked MATC WolfPack Women's Basketball team fell behind 40-32 in the first half to the visiting NJCAA Division I Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawks. In the second half, the WolfPack outscored the visiting Skyhawks but it was not enough as MATC struggled shooting from the field and the free throw line down the stretch to fall 67-72.

Second year players, Dana Wagner and Kaycey Kuecker led the way for the WolfPack with 18 points and 12 points, respectively.


MATC Takes Third Place at Border Battle
Posted 11-15-08 - The #6 nationally ranked WolfPack split a pair of games over the weekend to claim third place at the annual Border Battle Tournament hosted at MATC.

On Friday, the #6 nationally ranked WolfPack took on the #1 ranked Yellowjackets from Rochester Community & Technical College, in a rematch of last year's Region XIII Championship game. After leading by a point at halftime, MATC eventually fell to Rochester by a final score of 73-65. Second year guard Dana Wagner paced the WolfPack with 25 points on the night.

MATC bounced back from an opening round loss to defeat Gogebic Community College by a final score of 73-68 on Saturday. MATC led by ten at halftime, and by as many as 18 points late in the second half before Gogebic went on a 19-6 run to end the game. Kaycey Kuecker paced the team with 14 points, while first year player Alyssa Bowe recorded her first career double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Kendra Mussehl added 11 points, as well.


#6 Ranked MATC Routs #5 Ranked DuPage
Posted 11-11-08 - The #6 nationally ranked Madison Area Technical College WolfPack Women's basketball team jumped out to a 39-17 halftime lead and never looked back against the visiting #5 ranked College of DuPage Chaparrals.

Pre-season All-American Dana Wagner led her team in scoring for the third straight game as she poured in 20 points on 4-for-8 shooting from beyond the arc. Fellow second year players, Rebecca Glasbrenner and Kaycey Kuecker added 17 points and 14 points, respectively. The WolfPack Women won 71-48 to improve their overall record to 3-0.

Women's Basketball Off to Good Start
Posted 11-10-08 - Coming off of a fourth place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament last year, MATC picked up right where they left off as they won both games of the Sanford Hospital Classic in Worthington, MN.

In the first round contest verses Minnesota West, Pre-Season All-American Dana Wagner scored career high 32 points as MATC held on for a 76-71 victory. Second year forward Rebecca Glasbrenner contributed with 17 points and 10 rebounds.

In the second game verses Riveland Community College, Wagner again paced her squad with 24 points as MATC won by a final score of 69-63. Secon year guard Abbie Windus added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the victory.

The team will play host to the College of DuPage on Tues., Nov. 11, at 5:30 pm, before facing rival Rochester CTC in the opening round of the MATC Border Battle Tournament on Fri., Nov. 14, at 6:00 pm.


MATC's Dana Wagner Pre-Season All-American
Posted 11-7-08 - Second year guard, Dana Wagner, was selected a 2008-09 NJCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Pre-Season Second Team All-American.

Dana Wagner, a former Sun Prairie H.S. standout, helped lead Madison Area Technical College to a conference title, state title, region title and to a fourth place national finish in 2007-08.  She was MATC’s statistical leader in four different categories including three-point percentage (32.3), steals per game (2.3 spg), free-throw percentage (81.0) and total minutes played.  Wagner was also the second leading scorer on her team (14.0 ppg).  Wagner earned all-conference and all-state honors for her play during the 2007-08 season.


MATC Set to Scrimmage Edgewood & Marian
Posted 9-23-08 - The MATC Women's Basketball team will scrimmage Edgewood College on Monday, October 27 at 7:30 PM and Marion University on Saturday, November 1 at 10:00 AM.


Open Tryouts - Monday-Thursday, Sept. 22-25
Posted 9-17-08 - MATC Women's Basketball has scheduled Open Tryouts for Monday-Thursday, September 22-25 at 3:30-5:30 PM in the Gymnasium.

Open Tryouts - Mandatory Meeting Date Set
Posted 6-5-08 - MATC Women's Basketball has scheduled their Mandatory Meeting for Wednesday, August 27 at 3:30 PM in Room 239. This meeting is required for all students interested in trying out for the team, recruited athletes and for all athletes returning for their second season of competition.

Tryouts are scheduled to begin:
in Late September
