Madison College Finishes Nat'l Runners-Up
Posted 11-14-09 - In their first ever national tournament appearance the #3 seed, WolfPack Women's Volleyball team, advanced to the national title game against the tournament's #1 seed Brookhaven College from Texas.
In the first game of the title match Madison College grabbed the early advantage, 25-22. Brookhaven answered in the second game with a 25-20 win and continued to roll winning the next two games 25-18 and 25-19 to claim the match and the national title. Casee Simms and Melissa Ernst each had 11 kills and Kristen Klein posted 40 assists in the championship match.
The WolfPack finished national runners-up with an overall record of 29-7. Skye Kapinus, Melissa Ernst and Casee Simms were named to the All-Tournament team.
Women Advance to National Title Game
Posted 11-13-09 - The #3 seed, WolfPack Women's Volleyball team, advanced to the national title game tomorrow at 2:30 PM in Rochester, MN, versus the tournament's #1 seed Brookhaven College from Texas with two three game match wins today.
In the first match, Madison College beat the tournament's #6 seed, Nassau Community College (NY), in three straight games (25-19, 25-22, 25-20). In the second match, the WolfPack upset the tournament's #2 seed, Ridgewater College, in three games as well, winning 25-18, 25-20, and 25-19.
WolfPack Earn First Trip to National Tourney
Posted 11-1-09 - The #4 nationally ranked WolfPack Women's Volleyball team earned the program's first ever trip to the national tournament with a 3-2 win over #1 ranked Rock Valley College in front of a home crowd at H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium on the MATC-Truax Campus.
In the semifinal game, MATC beat Harper College in three straight games (25-21, 25-16, 25-18) to advance to the NJCAA Region IV championship match. Casee Simms posted 12 kills and Kristen Klein recorded 32 assists in the win.
In the championship, the WolfPack faced the #1 ranked Rock Valley College Golden Eagles. Having lost to Rock Valley on three different occasions in the regular season matches, the WolfPack knew it was going to be a very tough test. MATC proved they were up for the challenge as they won the first game. The second game went to the Golden Eagles and the teams split the next two games to force a fifth and deciding game. In the fifth game, MATC rallied to win 15-13 claiming a region title for the first time in program history. Melissa Ernst recorded 23 kills and 24 digs as Kristen Klein had 49 assists and three aces to propel the WolfPack to a thrilling five game match victory.
The WolfPack will play in the NJCAA Division III National Championships in Rochester, MN on November 13-15.
WolfPack Wrap up Regular Season
Posted 10-26-09 - MATC ended their regular season at home with a win over Western Technical College. The WolfPack won in three sets (25-13, 25-17, 25-20).
Kristen Klein led the team with 28 assists, Casee Simms recorded 10 digs, and Sharyn Jordahl posted nine kills in the victory.
The WolfPack rebounded to win their final four matches of the season after losing back-to-back matches against the Carthage College JV team and the No. 1 team in the nation, Rock Valley College.
MATC enters the postseason as the No. 4 team in the nation.The WolfPack host Triton College on Oct. 28 at 6:00 in their first postseason match. MATC played Triton College twice this year, winning both matches and all six sets.
MATC Takes Care of Whitewater JV
Posted 10-22-09 - The WolfPack took care of business against the NCAA Division III UW-Whitewater JV team in Madison, winning in three sets (25-17, 25-19, 25-18). The WolfPack have now won nine straight sets over their last three matches. MATC has just one more non-conference match, against Western Tech, before the postseason begins.
Co-captains Melissa Ernst and Kristen Klein put up 13 kills and 38 assists respectively. Sharyn Jordahl recorded 13 digs to help MATC win the match.
MATC Wraps up Conference Play
Posted 10-22-09 - The WolfPack finished in second place (10-2) during their first season in the North Central Community College Conference. MATC wrapped up the conference regular season with a win over Triton College in Madison on Oct. 20. The WolfPack coasted to a victory by winning all three sets 25-6, 25-12, and 25-11.
Kelsey Zimmerman led the team in assists with 19 and co-captain Melissa Ernst added nine digs. Second-year player Tami Biesterveld recorded seven kills and four aces in the match.
MATC Gets Back to Winning Ways
Posted 10-19-09 - After two tough losses, the MATC Volleyball team got back on track by defeating Joliet Junior College on Oct. 17 in Joliet, IL. The WolfPack did not lose a single set in the victory (25-22, 25-22, 25-18).
Casee Simms led the team with 10 blocks and setter Kristen Klein had 32 assists in the match to go along with her five aces.
The WolfPack have just one conference game remaining on the season. MATC hosts Triton College on Oct. 20 to wrap up their first season in the North Central Community College Conference. The WolfPack are currently 9-2 in conference play.
#3 WolfPack fall to #1 Golden Eagles
Posted 10-14-09 - MATC Women's Volleyball lost a tough match on the road against the #1 ranked Rock Valley Golden Eagles.
The Wolfpack lost the first 2 sets (25-27, 10-25), but rallied back to win sets 3 and 4 (25-19, 25-19) and force a fifth set. Unfortunately, the Golden Eagles proved to be too much for the Wolfpack, winning the fifth set 15-8.
Kristen Klein recorded 47 assists and Tami Biesterveld had 21 digs, along with 17 kills posted by Casee Simms.
MATC Volleyball Digs Pink But Loses Match
Posted 10-10-09 - MATC Volleyball held their second annual fund-raiser for breast cancer as a sea of pink filled the stands for today's Dig Pink match.
Unfortunately, Carthage College JV would not cooperate with the event as they swept the host WolfPack in three games (25-27, 23-25, 25-27).
MATC Volleyball Team Sweeps Harper College
Posted 10-08-09 - The WolfPack continued to roll in the N4C as they beat Harper College in Palatine, IL on Oct. 6. The WolfPack defeated Harper College for the second time this season as MATC improved their overall record to 20-4 and 8-1 in the N4C.
MATC took the first set (25-21) and lost a close second set (23-25), before winning the last two sets (25-18, 25-17) to earn the victory on the road.
Melissa Ernst put up a season-high 20 kills in the match and Kristen Klein had 42 assists to go along with Tami Biesterveld's 12 digs.
The WolfPack are gearing up for their second annual Dig Pink Event against Carthage College JV at noon on Oct. 10 in Madison.
WolfPack Volleyball Wins Again
Posted 10-02-09 - The WolfPack improved to 19-4 overall and 7-1 in conference play. MATC defeated College of DuPage in three sets (25-10, 25-13, 25-20) in Madison on Oct. 1.
The WolfPack have now won four straight games, all of which were conference wins. MATC remains ranked #3 in the latest national poll.
Three second-year players came up big in the game against College of DuPage. Kristen Klein recorded 27 assists, Melissa Ernst posted 15 kills, and Tami Biesterveld had nine digs for the WolfPack.
MATC Volleyball Wins Third Straight
Posted 10-01-09 - The WolfPack extended their winning streak to three games with a victory in four sets over MATC-Milwaukee Sept. 29 in Madison.
The WolfPack started off the match by winning their seventh straight set (25-16). The Stormers haulted the WolfPack streak at seven as they took the second set from the WolfPack (29-31). The WolfPack rebounded to win the next two sets (25-20, 25-16) to win the match.
April Testman led the team with 14 kills and two blocks. Setter Kristen Klein had an impressive 46 assists in the match and Kelsey Zimmerman recorded 14 digs as the WolfPack continued to roll in the N4C.
WolfPack Win Twice in Two Days
Posted 9-28-09 - The MATC Women's Volleyball team won for the second consecutive day when they defeated Joliet Junior College in three straight sets in Madison on Sept. 25. The WolfPack had little trouble at home as they won (25-17, 25-14, 25-20).
Second-year setter Kristen Klein posted 36 assists in the game. Fellow second-year teammates Rachael Schmidt and Melissa Ernst added 10 kills and 13 digs respectively. The WolfPack are now 5-1 in the N4C and 17-4 overall.
WolfPack Trounce Triton College
Posted 9-25-09 - In River grove, IL Sept. 24, the WolfPack improved to 4-1 in conference play and 16-4 overall. MATC defeated Triton College in three straight sets, winning the first two handily (25-6, 25-5). Triton College made the third set interesting by keeping it close, but the WolfPack held on for the win (25-16).
First-year player April Testman led the team with seven aces while second-year player Melissa Ernst recorded seven kills. Setter Kristen Klein added 16 assists for MATC.
The WolfPack currently are ranked #3 in the latest NJCAA Division III women's volleyball national poll.
MATC Places Third in Kankakee Tournament
Posted 9-21-09 - The Women's Volleyball team went 3-2 at the Kankakee CC Tournament on Sept. 18-19. MATC took third place in the tournament. The WolfPack now sit at 15-4 on the season.
MATC defeated Ancilla College, Muskegon CC, and host, Kankakee CC. The WolfPack defeated McHenry CC (25-23) in the first set, but then dropped three straight sets (14-25, 22-25, 19-25) for the loss. In the final game of the tournament Rock Valley defeated MATC for the second time in five days.
Kristin Klein recorded 139 assists in five games.
#2 WolfPack Fall to #3 Golden Eagles
Posted 9-15-09 - The #2 nationally ranked MATC Women's Volleyball team lost at home to the #3 ranked Rock Valley College Golden Eagles in four sets.
MATC lost the first two sets (25-21, 25-19) before winning an exciting third set 25-23. The Golden Eagles proved too much for the WolfPack in the fourth set winning 25-17.
Kristin Klein recorded 36 assists and Sharyn Jordahl had 11 digs while Casee Simms posted nine kills with a .438 attack percentage. The WolfPack fell to 12-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play.

MATC Volleyball Wins Rochester Tournament
Posted 9-14-09 - The #2 nationally ranked MATC Women's Volleyball team won the Rochester Volleyball Invitational with five straight wins. The WolfPack claimed wins over Minnesota West, Minnesota State, Riverland, Rochester and Western Technical College to improve their overall record to 12-1.
Kristin Klein recorded 100 assists and Melissa Ernst had 34 kills in five games.
MATC Continues to Roll, Beats Harper
Posted 9-11-09 - The #2 nationally ranked MATC Women's Volleyball team remained undefeated in the N4C with a three set victory over Harper College at home. MATC improved to 3-0 in conference play and 7-1 overall.
First year OP Skye Kapinus had a game high 13 kills and second year setter, Kristin Klein, had 31 assists as the WolfPack cruised 26-24, 25-15 and 25-23.
MATC Volleyball Earns #2 National Ranking
Posted 9-9-09 - The MATC Women's Volleyball team earned a #2 national ranking in the latest NJCAA Division III women's volleyball national poll. The team is currently 6-1 overall and has a 2-0 record in the N4C.
WolfPack Claim Second N4C Victory
Posted 9-5-09 - The #7 nationally ranked MATC Women's Volleyball team claimed their second N4C victory in as many days with a four set win over Milwaukee Area Technical College.
The WolfPack won the first, third and fourth set. Skye Kapinus had 14 kills, Kristin Klein had 27 assists and Tami Biesterveld posted ten aces as MATC improved to 6-1 and 2-0 in conference play.
MATC Volleyball Claims First Conference Win
Posted 9-4-09 - The #7 nationally ranked WolfPack Women's Volleyball team won their first North Central Community College Conference (N4C) game versus College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, IL.
The WolfPack won their first two sets 25-17 and 25-20 before losing the third game, 23-25. MATC rallied in the fourth game to win 25-16 over the host Chaparrals. Melissa Ernst and Skye Kapinus each had 14 kills while Kristin Klein had 36 assists.
MATC Volleyball Finishes Second in Opener
Posted 9-1-09 - The #7 nationallly ranked WolfPack Women's Volleyball team finished second in their season opening tournament to the NJCAA Division II Vincennes College Trailblazers. MATC fell in two sets, 32-34 and 15-25.
The WolfPack advanced to the championship match of the 14th Annual College of DuPage Classic with wins over Minnesota West CTC, Illinois Valley CC, Harper College and Highland College.

Open Tryouts - Mandatory Meeting Date Set
